Wholesome Recipes for Your Go-To Brew

The most popular way to enjoy Postum is to stir a teaspoon into a cup of hot water, then add milk, cream or sugar to taste. But many folks have found creative ways to use it – sprinkling it as a topping, adding it to hot chocolate or creating delicious new recipes with Postum. POSTUM CAPPUCCINO MIX

  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 cup instant chocolate drink mix
  • 1 cup Coffee-Flavored Postum
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

- Mix two spoons of blend with 8 ounces of warm water.

- Great as a gift!

POSTUM COQUITO (NON-ALCOHOLIC)

  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 can condensed sweetened coconut milk
  • 1 cup Coffee-flavored Postum premixed w/ water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

- Combine ingredients in a blender

- Serve cold and enjoy!

POSTUM TRUFFLES

  • 24 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 8-oz (1 package) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons Coffee-flavored Postum mixed with 2 teaspoons water
  • For coating: 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • For coating: 1 tablespoon shortening

- Melt 24 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted (about 1-3 minutes total)

- Mix cream cheese and Postum (premixed with water) into melted chocolate until smooth

- Chill the chocolate mixture until firm enough to shape, about 30 minutes in the fridge

- Shape the chocolate mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a prepared baking sheet, lined with wax or parchment paper

- Chill truffles until firm, at least 1-2 hours in the fridge

- Right before you take the truffles out, melt 6 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted (about 1-2 minutes total)

- Dip truffles in the melted chocolate mixture and return to the lined baking sheet

- Set aside until firm, at least 30 minutes

- Enjoy! Works great as a holiday treat to share!

POSTUM LATTE

• 3/4 cup milk
• 3 tablespoons powdered milk
• 1 tablespoon Postum flavor of your choice
• Sweeten to taste

- Add all of these wonderful ingredients into blender.

- Blend ingredients together until they’re all frothy

- Pour ingredients into a microwave-safe coffee mug

- Heat in microwave and enjoy!

POSTUM PUMPKIN PIE LATTE

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon Postum flavor of your choice
  • Coconut Sugar as needed
  • 2 tablespoons Pumpkin Puree
  • Dash of Cinnamon
  • Dash of Pumpkin Pie Spice

-Combine ingredients and froth or mix until thick and creamy.

-Top with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg.

PROTEIN-POSTUM DRINK

• Vanilla protein powder
• 1 scoop Postum
• 1 – 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
• (Optional) Sweeten with sugar, Stevia, Sweetener, or Agave Milk or Hot Water, 250 mls

- Combine all dry ingredients, then add to liquid.

- Mix until dry ingredients are no longer seen as clumps.

- Excellent bed-time snack!

COLD POSTUM DRINK

• 1 tablespoons Postum
• 3 packets of truvia
• 4 tablespoons Powder Creamer

- Combine ingredients and mix well.

- Heat drink until it is hot.

- Put hot drink in jar and refrigerate to chill.

- Cold Postum is an excellent summer drink!

CHOCOLATE POSTUM SHAKE

• 2 cups Whole Milk
• 1 cup Ice
• 5 tbsp Nestle Chocolate Mix
• 3 tbsp Postum

- In blender, pour milk, Nestle Chocolate mix and Postum.

- Add ice to mixture. Mix ingredients in a blender on the milkshake setting.

- Enjoy!

POSTUM FRAPPE

• 2 cups of whole milk
• 1 cup of ice
• 3 tablespoons of sugar
• 2 tablespoons of Postum

- Add all of these wonderful ingredients into blender.

- Blend ingredients together until they’re all frothy

- Pour blended ingredients into glass. So delicious!

COCONUT FRAPPE

• 1 cup coconut milk
• 1 cup coconut cream
• 1 cup of ice
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
• 2 tablespoons Original Postum

- Add all of these wonderful ingredients into blender.

- Blend ingredients together until they’re all frothy

- Line the rim of glass with agave and toasted coconut flakes.

- Pour blended ingredients into glass.

- Top drink with coconut whipped cream and sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes. So delicious!

POSTUM CAKE

• 2 cups Flour
• 2 cups Sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon Salt
• 3 tablespoon Postum
• 1/2 cup Buttermilk

• 1 cup (2 sticks) Butter
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup boiling water

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees

- Grease and flour 2 round (9″) baking pans

- Mix sugar, flour, and salt and set aside

- Melt 2 sticks of butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

- While melting butter, add 3 tablespoons of Postum to 1 cup boiling water.

- Once butter has melted, add Postum mixture and bring to a boil for about 10 seconds, then turn off heat and set aside.

- In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla

- Pour Postum mixture into flour mixture and stir together gently. (Purpose is to cool mixture before adding eggs)

- Add in the egg mixture and stir until well combined.

- Pour into baking pans and bake for 20-22 minutes.

- Cool completely and frost with preferred icing. (Our favorite is chocolate buttercream).
