• 1 c. of sifted, all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. of Postum®
  • 1/2 tsp. of baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. of baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. of salt
  • 1/2 c. of chopped pecans
  • 1/3 c. of butter
  • 1/2 c. of firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. of granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. of vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Sift flour with Postum, baking powder, soda and salt. Add pecans and mix well. Melt butter in saucepan; remove from heat. Add the sugars and mix well. Cool slightly. Blend in egg and vanilla. Then add flour mixture, a small amount at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour into greased 9-inch square pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes – do not overbake. Cool in pan. Cut in small bars.

Makes about 2 dozen bars.
