This cake is amazing!

 

Ease of Preparation: Advanced.

  • 6 eggs (separate yolks and whites)
  • 4 tablespoons of cold water
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 4 tablespoons of Postum

Beat egg yolks. Add half of the sugar, beat again, then add water, then beat. Now beat egg whites until part stiff, then add the rest of the sugar and beat stiff. Take 2 tablespoons of the white mixture and fold into yellow mixture. Sift dry ingredients into mixture, fold the rest of the whites into the yellow mixture, and beat for a few minutes.

Pour into 3, layer pans, preferably circular.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes

Frosting:

Beat 2 eggs with 1 cup of sugar until thick, Then, add 1 cup of milk. Put in a double boiler, and then bring it to a boiling point. Add 5 teaspoons of corn starch with a little cold water. Cook until thick, like a custard, then cool. Cream 3/4 lbs of sweet butter with 10 teaspoons of powdered sugar, add to cold custard, a little at a time. Then, beat the custard constantly until it’s like whipped cream. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla or maple.
